Lust for
Life
Retrospectively Speaking...
After distributing pamphlets and newspapers (Yipster Times, Rising Up Angry, Guardian, Berkeley Tribe, LA Free Press, Liberated Guardian, Industrial Worker)
at the University of Oregon campus (Eugene, Oregon USA) in 1970-71, and pushing
the SDS-led student strikes past their liberal tendencies, but finding
the Leninoid emergences that killed that same SDS dreary, capitalist, and
treacherous, I began mimeographing anarchist (Bakunin, Malatesta) and atheist
tracts in Portland during the 1971-1974 period, spent joyous hours with my
Davidson dualith/offset press (known as Mad Dog Press) cranking out Situationist-inspired pamphlets/leaflets/reprints in 1974-1976, and finally the Lust for Life
project emerged in 1976 (Portland, Oregon U.S.A.)
- traversing alongside S.M.I.R.K. (Society for the Maintenance
of Irreverence towards Ridiculous Kowtow) during the 1984-87 period.
Originally distributing literature on racks in an office shared with Dragonfly Printing
and the Portland, Oregon USA Branch of I.W.W. during 1974-1976, later through Burning Books
section at Holland's Books (Portland, Oregon USA) in 1982-1990 and through
my still-existent U.S. Post Office box (P.O. Box 22466 - Milwaukie, Oregon
U.S.A. 97269) which I've had now for 28+ years, I now distribute most literature via this web site, which
was originally launched in 2002 as Rasputin's Rant-o-Ramathon - now more the table of (mal-)contents.
I scan, format, clean up grammar/punctuation/spelling, select appropriate
fonts, add graphics, add notations, and distribution. I publish in HTML,
RTF, PDF, and paper.
Past associations include freethought & atheist groups, anarchist
tendencies & associations (S.D.S., Y.I.P., S.R.A.F.), point
of production movements (I.W.W.), post-Situationist and council-communist groups
- coalescing now around the Library of eDoc Downloads, Project:
WR, Project: A Situationist Dictionary, Project: Situationist Games, a re-emergence of S.M.I.R.K., surviving the Nothingness Situationist site's email group and facilitating a committed and formalized federation. The site
abounds in downloadable epublications, agit-props, flyers,
and an exhaustively researched network of links to groups,
documents, discussions, news, and projects on a searchable and
translatable site - including 85+ pages entitled Situationist,
Surrealist, Anarchist, Critical Theorists, Sex-Pol, Councilists,
Dadaists, Syndicalists, Libertarian Communists, Love/Play/Passion,
Atheist, Cartoons, Comix, Music, Computing, Film, Suppressed Science,
Alternative Health, Media Sources, and much more - depicting dreams
lost, a world alienated, movements hidden, and lives to
win.
And Futuristically Seeking...
The site will be undergoing a massive
upgrade in 2005-7 with the addition of a mirrored and RAIDed server
running a secure kernel-based operating system:
- more links and accessibility (crosslinks,
hyperlinks, add to favorites feature, a what's new?
feature, site outlining)
- access to audio streaming offerings and
things that go bump in the night
- user access to a downloadable graphics
library
- public blog and chat areas for focus on
starting point topics
- bulletin board
areas for posting projects and attracting associates
- use of a cross-platform/trans-lingual environment
- managed and dead-time monitored private
chat areas known as secret meeting rooms for project-specific
conferencing
- plug-in writing/research projects (eg.,
theoretical pieces that are cyber-composed/co-written)
- projects that are concurrently released
and/or released globally
- access to web space as project implementation
areas
- managed free email for participants
- at-cost and affiliate inventory
with quick delivery capability
- agitational and interaction-provoking (versus
role-labeling) buttons
- lick-and-stick/peel-and-stick agit-prop
stickers
- anti-surveillance devices
- agitational and interaction-provoking (versus
role-labeling) short and long-sleeved tee-shirts,
short and long-sleeved polo shirts, long-sleeved mock turtlenecks,
and cycling jerseys
- bumperstickers about landscape, transportation,
mobility, traffic jams
- insurrectionary pamphlets
- interventional flyers
- organizational booklets
- theoretical books
- use of encryption/decryption tools and
methods for secure and private communication
- use of language translators especially
with free character and voice recognition technologies
- a free internet teleconference line for
global project coordinating and news distribution
- a distributed library and web "printshop"
much as done with music
- a globally-connected localizable
web-based alternative high-tech and neo-energy grid
- a globally-connected localizable
web-based health analysis database and nutritional simulator
- a globally-connected localizable
web-based game series (taking and making history) whose winners
take all
- a globally-connected localizable
web-based events calendar
- a globally-connected localizable
web-based plug'n'play news broadcast
- a globally-connected localizable
web-based jukebox
- downloadable plans for replicating and
expanding the site as part of free zones whose means-and-ends
are a post-nationally networked, council-based, omnicentralized
form of social relations
So - as you see, the plans are
negentropically expansive, self-reflexive, recursive, interactivist,
gratification-centric, unending, and requires everywhere as terrain,
everything as ingredient/tool, and everyone as playmate. The (rough
and tough) draft of the Project
WR document encourages
consequential feedback and demands suggestive supersession....
