On the northern end, I-95 connects to NB-95 at at the Canadian border near Houlton, ME and Woodstock, NB. On the sothern end, I-95 connects to US-1 in Miami, FL which continues southward an additional 160 mile to Key West, FL. IN MAINE: In 2004, the Maine DOT will be changing its exit numbers from sequential numbering to milepost based numbering. It will also be redesignating its interstate freeways so that I-95 stays on the Maine Turnpike rather than using its current alignment. I-295 will continue northward from Portland to Brunswick and onward to Gardiner where it connects back into I-95 at the north end of the Maine Turnpike. The Falmouth Spur will become I-495 but will remain unsigned. I-195 and I-395 will remain as they are. Maine DOT will also complete a widening project on I-95 which will extend the 6-lane portion at the southern end of I-95 up to the southern I-295 connection at exit 44. In late 2003, a new exit (86) will be opened in the Lewiston area. This stripchart reflects all of the above changes. To follow the previous alignment for I-95 in the Maine stripcharts southbound, follow I-95 to I-295 (Exit 103). Follow the connection link to I-295 and follow I-295 to the Falmouth Spur to I-95 (Exit 11). Follow the connection link to I-95 (the Falmouth Spur has no exits between the I-95 exit and the I-295 exit) and follow I-95 to the NH border. To follow the previous alignment for I-95 in the Maine stripcharts northbound, follow I-95 to the Falmouth Spur to I-295 (Exit 52). Follow the connection link to I-295 (the Falmouth Spur has no exits between the I-95 exit and the I-295 exit) and follow I-295 to its north end (Exit 51). Follow the connection link to I-95 and follow I-95 to the Canadian border. I-95 in Maine follows the Maine Turnpike for its entire length from exit 7 to exit 109. Toll collection is done at three mainline toll barriers, on-ramp barriers at all exits except exits 19 SB, 63 NB, 75, 80 and 102, and off-ramp barriers at exits 52 and 103. Collection is by cash or electronic recognition via Transpass (currently not EZ-Pass compatible). EZ-Pass compatibility is expected sometime in 2004. At some point, an additional main line barrier will be set up near Saco at which point all ramp barriers are expected to be shut down. MAINE TOLLS FOR CARS (as of 26 MAY 2003): Entire length (I-95); NB - $3.00, SB - $3.00 I-95 to Falmouth Spur to I-295 to I-95; NB - $2.50, SB - $2.50 I-95 to I-295 to I-95; NB - $2.00, SB - $2.50 IN NEW HAMPSHIRE: I-95 has a short 19-mile segment that transits the coastal region of New Hampshire on its way from the Boston, MA area to Maine. I-95 also follows the New Hampshire Turnpike between Exits 1 and 3. Toll collection is done at a ramp barrier on Exit 2 ($0.50) and a mainline barrier between the on-ramps and off-ramps of Exit 2 ($1.00). Toll collection is done by cash or electronic recognition (EZ-Pass compatible).
