MORE CREEL DESIGN OPTIONS

The standard design for the center leather band has TWO rows of an embossed pattern applied to the leather. As an option, illustrated above are four designs that may be applied near the edges of the leather on the center band that runs between the top opening and bottom of the basket. There, on both sides of  ONE centered row of the embossed pattern, I can install: #1- a line of  1/2" diamond-shaped flat nickel harness "spots", #2- a liine of sets of three round domed nickel harness "spots" (each set of three spots measures about 3/4" long).  This special hardware is left over from the days when the G.L.Co. used them for harness and saddle work.  The #3 design is a line of diamond-shaped punch-outs on a white background, and #4- a line of oval-shaped punch-outs on a white background. (For convenience, the illustrations show a different pattern on each edge.  In fact, the identical design would be applied to both edges.)  Without instructions to the contrary, a matching design would also normally be applied to the shoulder strap section of the carrying harness.

In the above two panels are shown six creel lid closure options.  #1 is a double-bar style buckle with a lock-tongue.  The tip of the tongue has a hole through which a small padlock may be mounted (padlock not supplied).  The old Geo. Lawrence Co. often used this style buckle on creels as well as on dog collors. #2 is a square-shaped single-bar style buckle with roller and leather keeper.  #3 is an oval-shaped single-bar style buckle with leather keeper.  #4 buckle is a double-bar style with a roller on the front bar.  I normally apply the #4 style if no other style is specified. #5 is a stud post over which a "key-hole" shaped cut into the strap fits snugly. The #6 closure is a spring-loaded style clasp that "snaps" securely into place when slipped under the metal bar.
