Heinrich (Henry) Wendland, March 1, 1838-July 7, 1926

and Maria Caroline Kolzow, September 9, 1841-February 8, 1929.

Both born in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany - were also married

there. Fred and Wilhemina (twins) were born Sept 15, 1868. In or

about the year 1869 they immigrated to America. During the crossing

Fred became ill, died, and was buried at sea.

They settled in Fullersburg, Illinois where Henry was caretaker

of a cemetery, of his farm land, that was sold to the city for that purpose.

They moved to Minnesota - Martin County - Tenhassen, and farmed until

they retired and moved to Ceylon, Minnesota. This move was made

after their youngest daughter Bertha was born, August 8, 1883.

Wilhemina Wendland married Walter Hoffmeyer. Their children's

names, George, Augusta, Florence, Marie, Edna, Walter, Alice, and Esther.

The following children were born in Illinois:

Charles Wendland, (1871-1948) - married Minnie Westphal. Their children's names,

Albert and Irma.

Mary Wendland, (1875-1926), married William Holldorf, (1872-1949), sons

Wilbert and Lester.

Caroline Lena Wendland, January, (1878 - l951), married Reinhold

Froelich, (1875-1953), daughter Elva.

Martha Wendland, (1880 - 1948), married Henry Kramer, (1877 - 1949)

no children.

Bertha Wendland (1883 - 1979) married Louis Fanter, (1879 - 1954)

children LaVerna, Mildred, and Sarah.

William Holldorf farmed, and was a carpenter, along with Henry Kramer

and Reinhold Froelich, built many of the first houses in the, then, new

town of Ceylon, not to mention the rural Ceylon area including Lake

Belt and Tenhassen Townships. These families are all interned in Lake

Belt Cemetery.

Great Granddaughters, Nadine (Lehmann) Palmer, and Edna (Schmidt) Swink

were responsible for compiling and authoring history within.
