Install KOMAND: Download release tapes, install products, apply custom code, assemble or compile and link programs, debug, apply vendor zaps, parallel test. Maintained KOMAND during upgrades to: IBM 3090, Amdahl 5995, CMOS; MVS/XA, ESA, OS/390; and 10 new releases of KOMAND 3 and 4. Use both Batch and OLC (On-Line Costing); ISPF panels for table updates, installs, and ad hoc reports; batch processing for production jobs and reports; create files for download to KIM.
Design and Develop: Cost Centers/Pools, Account Code structure, Reporting levels, Invoice format, Rate Calculation spreadsheet. Also interfaced to ARSAP (VAX), Informix (AIX), UNISYS, UNIX.
Organize project schedules, lead Development teams, estimate and assign tasks, coordinate with Management, Finance, Operations, Systems Programmers, and Users.
Converted Production JCL to new Account Code format, via FileAid and COBOL; CA-JARS and SAS to KOMAND with "bullet proof" reconciliations; K3 JURs and MURs to Summary file for download to PC.
Customize: KOMAND source, user exits, front ends, JCL, PROC parameters, table options, reports.
Interfaced: ADABAS (prorated), Analyst hours, CA-1 Tape Library, CD-ROM, CICS, Control-D, DASD volumes, DATACOM, Data Entry, DB2, Disk files, E-Mail, Floppy, IDMS, Informix, Microfiche, On-Line & long jobs, Shifts, SoftSwitch, SYSOUT Class, UNISYS (CPU SUPs, Disk, Mapper, Print, TIP), UNIX, VAX, VM, and Xerox print. Created user exits in COBOL to assign account codes, expand rate fields.
Test and Implement: Reconcile KOMAND figures to old chargeback systems. Set up Production and Test JCL, CA-7 Production Schedule, file Backup and Reorganization, and Restart/Rerun procedures.
Document and Train: Write User Manuals, train clients in KOMAND maintenance and use of tools such as TSO/ISPF, FileAid or INSYNC.
Speaker at PACE/PUG conferences on "Modifications and Enhancements to KOMAND," "Organizing KOMAND Files," "ESA Experiences," "Accounting for On-Line and Long-Running Batch Jobs," "UCS and DIS DDTs," "Chargeback Philosophy," "Storage Charging," "Using UCS: Credits."
Telecommuting or On-Site. No need to supply an office, travel expenses, etc. Dial-up, voice, and fax can do it all. Remote enhancement and maintenance support also available on an as-needed basis.
