She knocked the whole world flat on its ear in the 1950s as the original movie sexpot. This is what she looked like back then. Her actual name was Camille Javal and she was born on September 28th, 1934 in Paris. Her early films included "And God Made Woman," "Come Dance With Me" and "Une Parisienne." They were a sensation! She became a superstar and eventually a recluse. Nowadays she is most famous for her consistent activism in the matter of the ethical treatment of animals. She has an autobiography entitled "Initiales B.B." in which she reveals herself as an arch-conservative old xenophobe. Her legions of stalwart fans don't appear to mind.

I think these photos were taken by the great Philippe Halsmann in the 1950s.
If you're interested in pictures of young Camille before she was a world-famous star, take a look at these .
