Stephen Samuel Spyrit was born on April 18th, 1961. He said "It's All Love" and he lived it. He was a master yogi and spiritual guru to me personally. He travelled to India repeatedly. I remember he came back from one such trip with a super-gnarly life-threatening infection on his arm, but he swung round right enough and was fine after some intensive antibiotics.
In the 1980s and 1990s Stephen was one of the key figures in a band called Hitting Birth. They'd play at Satyricon and bring chain saws on stage, bang on shopping carts with steel pipes, etc., all while holding it together as a band. I have a CD of his called "It's All Love" and a book of poems called Love Poems for the Millennium.
Stephen Spyrit died suddenly on November 11th, 2010, on a farm near Woodburn, Oregon.
