Oct 2007 The Bluegrass Music Education program has received an enormous response now that school is in session. Many teachers and administrators have made contact to get the program in their schools. You can email for more information.   There's a new bluegrass jam in town. Not for the faint of heart, this one is equal parts high-lonesome-sound and NHRA drag racing. If you're up for some bluegrass aerobics, you can email sparkpilotmusic@yahoo.com for some more details.   Sept 2007 A new Labor Day weekend tradition is the Moograss Bluegrass Festival (www.moograss.com) in Tillamook, OR. This festival began six years ago as a fund-raiser for the local school music program. It has become a great success not only as a way to help pay for music in the Tillamook schools, but also as a great bluegrass festival that would be as at home in the foothills of Kentucky as it is on the Oregon coast. A truly family friendly event, Moograss is a delightful way to spend a weekend.    A new link here at PBC is for Fran Kent. Stop by Fran's site for a chance to hear samples of her high-energy, fast-paced bluegrass. The songs are well worth stopping in for. Watch for more from Fran in the near future.    Congratulations to Matt Gray for his recent endorsement deal with Nechville banjos. Matt says he loves Nechville's innovations and playability. Look for Matt to be playing a new custom Nechville soon. Links that go to Matt and Nechville are over at the right of the page.   As you may or may not know, John Sullivan passed away a few months ago. John was an amazing artist who crafted both wood and tone in the stringed instruments he built. His website remains as a tribute to his incredible work as does his link here at this site.Thank you John for all your work and for making the world of music a more beautiful place.
