The Early Days

"Chip" Donahan's Hickory Chip
and Jason

Here is our oldest son, Jason at age 11 (he's now 26!) showing "Chip" in junior showmanship at one of our club's early fun matches. On this day, he took "Best Junior Handler" When Jason was older, 16, he also was Best Junior Handler at the specialty held in conjunction with the Santa Rosa Nationals. His partner at that time was Erik who you will see later in this site.

"Tally" Danaho's Tally Forth

(Ch. Willowside Tally Up Th' Score x Waitrock Tristana)

Tally was our foundation bitch who we purchased from Dana Hopkins in Los Angeles, CA. She is shown here with Curt going winners bitch at the Southern Oregon Kennel Club show in 1986. Tally never did love the show ring and preferred to stay home, taking occasional rides in the car. She like to sit in the back seat with her arm up on the arm rest looking out the window. Tally had this constant wagging tail that went from morning till night. What a good girl!! She was also a great mother and has whelped several litters of sweet puppies, including two champions. Tally also was the first 4-H partner for both of our sons. She lived a long and happy life, 14 1/2 years, and we miss her very much.

"Tim" Ch. Jester's Sentimental Journey

Tim is shown here going Best of Winners at the young age of 9 months under breeder/judge Carol Callahan . Tim finished his championship very quickly in a limited number of shows entered. He also went Best in Sweepstakes at the Puget Sound ESSA specialty show under breeder/ judge Ron Young. Tim lived his entire life with us for 13 1/2 years.

"Ribbon" Ch. Marcur's A Taste of Honey

(Ch. Springerlane's Ridgewyn x Ch. Phylwayne's Justa Lil' Pawmarc)

Ribbon is shown taking Winners Bitch at the Portland Kennel Club show in 98 degree heat!! This was one of her FOUR majors! She was our first homebred champion along with her littermate Erik. Ribbon also took Best in Sweepstakes at the WillametteValley ESSA specialty show under breeder/judge Bonnie Watts at the young age of 6 1/2 months. She was a wonderful girl and was always "the leader" and "adventurer," even in the beginning in her litter of 13!!
