JOE WHEELER

A whimsical little shaver, Joe started up the Irradiated Poets a few years after this picture with cohorts Brandon and Michael. He has led the group since its formation four years ago. Joe has participated in, and organized countless poetry readings, both in Oregon and while living in Connecticut (As a member of The Milktoast Degenerates and the Connecticut Poetry Society). He has appeared on The Talking Earth (on KBOO radio in Portland) with host Walt Curtis, been interviewed by Jane Magazine, The Oregonian and The Salt Lake City Weekly, and published in The Oregonian, The Connecticut Poetry Society Newsletter, Eleven Voices and Elephants of Style. He is currently working on a chapbook of bus poems due out in the near future. Joe's favorite poet is Wallace Stevens, and he can often be found haunting used books stores looking for that elusive copy of X.J. Kennedy's: Nude Descending a Staircase.
