Milonguero Style Tango with Robert Hauk

The milonguero style is characterized by the very close embrace it is danced in.
This embrace facilitates a very close connection between partners, and is a
framework for a dance of great subtlety and beauty.

7:00 - 8:00 PM Beginning Argentine Tango: Price $45

This class will develop the special leading and following techniques required to dance
comfortably in this close embrace. We will develop a vocabulary of steps that are
immediately useful on the dance floor. We will also develop an understanding of the
music. Most of all we will have fun dancing. No previous tango experience is required
for this class, however this class would also be interesting for a dancer with some
experience who is new to this style of tango.

8:00 - 9:00 PM Intermediate Argentine Tango: Price $45

Turns From Crossed and Parallel Feet

Turning is very important for tango dancers. Compact turns are important for dancing
in crowded milongas. This class will develop a family of turns from parallel and crossed
feet that will be immediately useful on the dance floor. In developing these turns we will
lay the foundations for more complex turns.

9:00 - 10:00 PM Int/Adv Argentine Tango: Price $45

Walking Backwards To Go Forward

There are many interesting possibilities in the dance when leaders learn to walk backward.
For followers walking forward is a less common, but nice feeling. Once the navigation
problems are worked out walking backward, and especially the transitions in and out of
walking backward open many interesting possibilities. In this class we will develop some
of these interesting situations.

You do not need a partner to take these classes.

I am offering a discount for high school and college students. For students the price for
these classes is $25 per class series.

Drop ins are welcome for these classes. The drop in price is $10 per session, $5 for students.

Milonga Traspie with Robert Hauk and Elizabeth Wartluft

This session, Elizabeth and I will focus on basic milonga traspie (a fast dance related to tango that has
both elegance and groove). We will learn how to syncopate in milonga, building both dance vocabulary
and musicality. This class is aimed at intermediate and advanced dancers.

Each week, we will focus on a set of related steps and movement information. By the end of the session,
you will have a bunch of cool new moves and combinations to let you rock the dance floor!
