Welcome to my Website

Ham Radio

One of my hobbies is Ham Radio. My call sign is N6QXQ. I am a Technican plus Class operator of the old school (had do get a Novice license first!). My antenna farm is mobile on my year old 1997 Ford Explorer .

This, of course, is a Ford promotional photo but it is my color (antennas not shown).

I have had a Kenwood TM-742 A tri-band (2 meters, 220 and 440 bands) mobile for over a year now and I am very happy with the functionality and performance. Kenwood TM-742 A
Yaesu FT-51 I also lost my dual band Kenwood TH-78A which was replaced with a Yaesu FT-51 dual band high power hand held. This is a really neat system in that I can program it with my Windows computer!

I also have a number of other radios used to support my Red Cross and Civil Air Patrol SAR activities. I recently aquired a Kenwood 630 radio system consisting of a 150-174 MHz component and a 450-480 MHz component with a total of 160 channels. See my supplier on the web - Nida Companies

I  belong to the Northrop Grumman Radio Club. The Radio Club has a 147.855 repeater in Anaheim (it is in the call book).
