In the New Testament, Matthew 24, Jesus described several
things that would occur in the future, and some of those things
at the time he said them, they didn't seem all that likely to
ever occur.
For instance, Jesus said all the "things" there at the temple
would be thrown down, and later on, the temple buildings were
torn down:
Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things?
verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one
stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.
Some in history have written this off as Jesus's words being
written in after the fact. They look at his statement as the
temple buildings being burned down, and the gold removed from
the temple blocks, then later, his words being written in to
cover the event.
But did Jesus say it was only the temple buildings? Why did Jesus
say "see all these things"? What are "things"? There are still the
huge blocks from "the wall" that surrounded the temple buildings,
and some towers, those are still standing. Was Jesus also including
the wall when he said it? There is present day discussion about
a recently formed large bulge in the retaining wall, and excavation
done near the wall where it may all collapse. It remains to be seen
whether or not Jesus included the wall when he said "things".
Some of the things Jesus said though, can not be written off as
"after the fact". Some items have already been discussed in previous
articles, and one about to be discussed, looks to have occurred
present day where Jesus said:
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall
the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her
light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the
powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Amazingly, that statement by Jesus does in fact make sense in a
present day manner. The reason being that the verse can be translated
as the sun and moon not being understood, or being dark to those
trying to figure out how our solar system formed, or the creation
events were accomplished by God.
That verse can basically be translated as, in a present day manner:
* After or during a major conflict never occurring before or after it:
* The sun and moon will go dark: they won't yeild an understanding
of our solar system formation, the creation events.
* The stars will be brought down from the heavens: with high power
telescopes, magnifying the stars millions of times to view them
in full detail, no longer dim points of light in the sky.
* In viewing the stars, the power of the stars will be seen to be
shaken: exploding stars viewed up close, splitting stars, things
never seen or imagined back at the time Jesus said it. Some stars
splitting like a rolled up scroll, also said to eventually occur.
Notice, that concept of Jesus's discussion, all fits present day
activities with high power telescopes and science's desire to prove
NOTHING as the source of God's creation. They openly admit that
they don't know or understand exactly how it all showed up, and
the search is on to find out how it was done. They bring the stars
right down to earth, right down into your living room. They then
tell you NOTHING was the source, and they ignore God while discussing
his creation.
Satan is having a bang up time convincing people to lose their faith,
showing them stars up close, and telling them that NOTHING was the
source of it, and that they should reject what God said about making
his creation in Genesis 1. God was right in Genesis 1, what he said
matches, but they ignore that and instead say NOTHING did it all.
The question you might ask is, what is the tribulation Jesus described?
It's possible it was the Holocaust, 6 million Jews being killed
over a large portion of the world was a rather horrific event in
history. Many Jews still see it as one of the worst events in history
and Jesus was a Jew. There is also the issue of "immediately after"
where soon after the Holocaust, the understanding of how planets
formed, changed, from a sun centered solar system formation, and
the understanding went dim or dark. The verse can also be translated
as "Immediately with", which might fit well with Israel's formation,
and struggles to survive intact, being attacked in wars, suicide bombers
and rockets, terrorists going over the world looking to kill Jews
and anyone that would help them. Either of those views could match
that "tribulation" Jesus described, and the verse would be fulfilled.
Further, there is the aspect of major world wars, nations against
nations, wars and methods of killing during those wars, never seen
before.
Regardless, another of the verses that looked like it couldn't possibly
fit, ended up fitting rather well with present day events.
A similar such verse is where Jesus said there would be earthquakes
in divers places. A divers place would be a large body of water,
where Jesus is saying that the land under that water, would have
earthquakes. Only in this last century or two, did we know or have
proof that there were earthquakes both in the areas of land masses
above water, as well as under water, such as in oceans. A recent such
earthquake under water, caused a Tsunami that killed approximately
1/4th million people in Indonesia and India. The earthquake was
caused by the land masses or plates moving relative to each other,
where one plate edge ridge that is near 1 mile in height, had risen
upwards another 33 feet, under water. The ridge is said to be about
750 miles long with areas of major land slides and a diverted canyon.
Again, this was only understood and provable relatively recently,
during the last one or two centuries, where they can now visualize
the results of an earthquake in the ocean, to confirm it occurs.
It's clear that Jesus knew things that one generation would eventually
see that he'd described. Jesus gave both events seen soon after he'd
said them thousands of years ago, and some seen present day. Jesus being
the ARM OF GOD, he'd said what God had already known about his creation,
future events to look for, as well as saying things God knew about what
we'd eventually understand about his creation present day.
God made it all, Jesus died for our sins.
