A CNN article on Sept 13, 2000 describes the first evidence found that humans lived in a vast area that is now covered by the Black Sea. The article discussed the findings of a team a researchers/explorers lead by Robert Ballard with chief archaeologist Fredrick Hiebert of the University of Pennsylvania. They apparently found the remains of an immense and previously inhabited area now submerged under more than 300 feet of water about 12 miles off the coast of Turkey. They estimate that the Mediterrainian Sea overflowed into a then fresh water lake in that area, thereby flooding it and turning it into a saltwater sea. Note: Though this does not specifically prove the site for Noah's initial building of the ark, it does describe an area wiped out by major flooding near where Noah could have been building the ark prior to the massive local flood described in the bible. God made it all, Jesus died for our sins.
