The "hi-tech" camera to scope adapter.

A 1.5" plastic pipe coupling fits nicely over the Swaro zoom objective. Four, 1/4" nylon screws grip the knurling on the 20X - 60X objective well enough to allow rotation (zoom) while camera is mounted.

The CKC Power CKC-E6 or CKC-E5 adapters fit nicely in the coupling and are cheaper than Nikon adapters.

Vignette free images are just possible with the CP5000 zoomed to about 18mm -21mm.
The CP5000 LCD can be rotated to a horizontal plane providing a convenient platform for the LCD viewer.
So far I have found the Swarovski 20X - 60X objective with the inexpensive plastic coupling  preferable to the Maxview objective.

  • The transition from "digi-scoping" to "normal-scoping" is simple and quick.
  • With the objective at 20X and the camera aligned horizontally (landscape) rotating the objective 90 degrees (portrait) brings one to about 50X zoom quickly.
  • Cheap!

Another solution is:

  • Swarovski 800MM camera adapter

  • Cannon 10D

I have not had enough experience with this combination to comment. Time will tell.
