Lewis and Clark 2006

On December 7th, 1805 Lewis and Clark established winter quarters at Fort Clatsop. After nearly four months of constant rain they happily departed March 23, 1806 arriving at the Cascades of the Columbia (Bonneville Dam area) April 9, 1806.

Barring particularly foul weather, flooding or other calamity I am planning on taking Deja Vu to Astoria in March and then return along the same route at approximately the same pace as the Corp of Discovery did 200 years prior. I will probably be visiting or mooring at Cathlamet, Kelso/Longview, Kalama, St. Helens, Multnomah Channel, Portland, Camas/Washougal and Beacon Rock among others.

If you should care for a few hours or days of fresh-air, birding, sightseeing, fishing (Spring Chinook) or sailing contact me.

"The Indian Nations of this neighborhood pass altogether by water. They have no roads or paths throught the Country which we observed, except across portages from one Creek to another."
