An acquaintance, accustomed to minimalist appointment books, once referred to the We'Moon date book as "almost too much." She didn't mean it in a disparaging way but to note that the We'Moon could almost come across as having become the calendrial equivalent of "all things to all women". Between the colorful cover pages of both date book and calendar are such resources as astrologi cal ephemera, moon phases, art, poetry and short essays from around the globe, contributed by all ages and skill levels from some of the best-known feminist artists, like Hrana Janto and Tee corinne to a rhyme by nine-year-old Han Van Swart.

We'Moon's Crone Mother Musawa, contributes a fine historical narrative from the publication's initial 1981-82 edition, begun in a cabin in Denmark to the multiple formats available in the 2006 editions. (The date book is available in three formate: layflat, spiral bound or unbound). In additions, there are two four-packs of greeting cards using art from the new edition: regular greeting cards and a special solstice compilation. This year's We'Moon's theme is "In the Spirit of Love".

All products in the overall We'Moon collection are printed with soy-based ink on recycled paper, a furthur draw for thos concerned with environmental sensitivity. The art is bright, insprational, and suitable for meditation focus for those who use visuals and poetry/prose for that purpose. The date book has 228 pages plus six blank note pages in the back. The wall calendar, 12" by 12", has 34 full-color pages.

Yes, this may seem like "too much" for some, but I also remember the aforementioned minimalist made it a rule, each year we had the SisterSpirit Calendar raffle for Michele's Heart, to buy 15-20 raffle tickets with the goal of taking a We'Moon date book home with her. Perhpas this is a case of "too much" being just right.
