Official ratings list

The National Scrabble Association finally does have all current (North American) ratings on its official site.

Therefore, this page will be reworked to provide processed versions, such as histograms.

[ UK Scrabble ratings ]

The approximate equivalency between NSA and ABSP (UK) ratings:

ABSP = (NSA - 500)/8,

is due to work of Jim Homan. More recently and probably more accurately (certainly more flattering to North American players)

ABSP = (NSA + 325)/11.4

has been calculated by Craig.

In the histogram above, each #, * or . represents ten rated players, the cumulative count is within [], and the number to the side represent intervals of 100 ("400:" represents ratings 400-499). For example, there are 55 players rated 1900-1999. There is a bump at 500 because that is the rating assigned to a player who wins no games in his or her first tournament.

(Here's a graphical version of that histogram.)
