Welcome K. Adams was a jeweler and watchmaker in Providence, Rhode Island. He was listed as an organ tuner by 1866, and was in the directories as an organbuilder by 1870. He was in partnership with his son(s?) from around 1883, and died in the 1890's. One son, Louis F., was later with Henry Pilcher's Sons in Louisville, and in 1944 he was a Moller representative in Florida. Another son, Charles W., operated the firm of C. W. Adams from c.1890 on; he died in a fall from an organ in 1914, The firm was succeeded by the Wilson-Bolan Co. of Providence, which had started around 1895. --information supplied by the late Alan Miller Laufman, founder of the Organ Clearing House.
